Physiotherapy includes activities such as massage, joint mobility, balance and fittening exercises. Each case is treated and assessed on an individual. Not all dogs respond to the same set of therapies, so we constantly monitor how your dog responds during and between sessions, adapting a plan as required. We aim to make your pets home plan as effective and straight forward as we can.
We can help with the management of all sorts of musculoskeletal and neuro conditions including:
It is not easy dealing with a pet in pain. Please don't feel like you have to struggle alone. We are here to help and will love your pets like you do. Just drop us an email info@pettherapyrooms.co.uk or give us a call 07977 548395.
Your pet will require vet consent for us to treat them, this is a very simple process that we can do for you.
WINBACK Tecartherapy is an electrotherapy treatment. It uses a specific range of radio frequencies that can optimise damaged or dysfunctional biological tissues. It’s diathermy (heating) effect promotes increased circulation and lymphatic drainage, optimising cellular metabolism and kick starting the body’s natural healing mechanisms. Additionally, WINBACK uniquely combines low frequency TENS providing immediate pain relief and medium frequency EMS for muscle stimulation, providing a multi faceted treatment solution.
WINBACK Tecartherapy is a very effective treatment for managing conditions such as Osteoarthritis, soft tissue injuries, post operative healing , acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Although a stand alone treatment, we often combine WINBACK Tecar with other physiotherapy modalities or hydrotherapy to enable your pet to achieve optimal comfort, strength and mobility.
We often use Hydrotherapy as part of a Physiotherapy programme, but Hydrotherapy can also be used in isolation. It's a fantastic therapy that we use to support all the musculoskeletal conditions already mentioned (See physiotherapy section).
If you have noticed your dog finding it hard to get up? sit down? slowing up on a walk? or refusing to go?, then they may be experiencing changes to their musculoskeletal systems. Hydrotherapy is great for providing a semi non-weight bearing environment, allowing your dog to exercise in a comfort, thus enabling an increase in strength and joint mobility, leading to an increased exercise tolerance on land.
Hydrotherapy is not just for recovery. We use a range of water heights, speed and incline/declines for fitness conditioning for our athletic, agility and working dog client's.
Warm water properties are great for reducing pain, increasing joint range of motion, building strength and improving mobility. Most essentially, hydrotherapy can increase your dog's confidence, and when combined with physiotherapy, helps to get your dog to a maximum state of fitness.
Our approach is sympathetic and caring. Working at your dogs pace, we offer a range of activities that fulfil both your dog's mental and physical well being. We find this leads to a happy well-balanced animal, and our owners tell us that they notice a significant change in behaviours at home.
